    The story is the best that any final fantasy has ever seen.
    The graphics were amazing and still are okay (not that they matter really).
    This, next to Final Fantasy III/XI, is the best RPG ever produced.

  • Final Fantasy 7. The first in the series to have been lovingly crafted in (albeit basic) 3D. Theres not much else I can say about this game apart from it is absolutely amazing. The musical score, wrote and partially performed by Nobuo Uematsu fits every moment of play perfectly. From the obvious battles, to the (sometimes, I admit!) Heart wrenching moments, where you feel so immersed and connected to the characters you actually FEEL what they are going through. The graphics for their time were amazing, and in my opinion, have stood the test of time and are easily accesible by all.(Even those spoilt rotten by having only ever played ps3/xbox 360 games). With such a variety of ways to customise your characters, to the massive expanse of areas you can visit, this game is most definetly worth playing. My review stands for all 3 of the discs. Not many games can command a player to spend 70 hours or more in levelling up your characters and completing all the side quests. I hope this inspires some more people to give final fantasy 7 a try.(For that matter, play ANY final fantasy, because they all have the same playability).

  • I learned to read while playing this game, when I was in like grade 1.

  • (In My Opinion, and please don\'t flame me, this is an opinion!) This was the last great Final Fantasy before they started losing their luster. It was challenging, has great graphics (for its day...), great music, and plus, it breaks out of the overly cliche \'knights, dragons, wizards\' opting instead for a more modern sci-fi feel that fits the game like a glove. I know many people who hated rpgs that absolutely loved this game. If you somehow missed this game, get it. You won\'t regret it!\r\n\r\oh, and by the way, you people are making me feel old! I was 14 when I played this game... jeez. :)

    1: yes it should work with ePSXe [color=#008000]www.epsxe.com/[/color]

    2: It can be played on PsP if you 1) convert to PsP format and 2) have 'Enabled' your PsP to do so. (many ways to do so here is just one http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread\_view.cfm/470246

    3: honestly not sure about if it will work on DS but i presume that it will not work even if u find the right converter.

    4: not sure of your question but.. to download the file you just click download uptop or after downloading you can play it on any chipped/modded PSX/PSone/PS2 or if u only have a computer you can always use ePSXe emulator. all you need is to find the right bios (easy to find will not tell you where tho due to copyright laws. also you will need a GPU (Graphix plugin) the best place to get it being [color=#008000]www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm[/color]

  • I don't know why people are saying Final Fantasy 8 was the last good one. The only bad one is 11. I'll admit 12 wasn't the greatest, but it was still good, let's just hope that they bring back the turn based combat system. I didn't like 5 that much either, but it was still good. 10 is my favorite .

  • I have this game on the original CD, and it is one heck of a game. 999/10. FFXI (11) was one of the ones that I didn't really like. I have FFXII and it doesn't seem to much like a Final Fantasy game. OMG this is my first comment on this site ever!

  • One of the fist rpgs i played, (UNFORTUNETLY) now i compare every rpg i touch and play to it. I can't ever now get an experience as good as this one. Its long, the story is awesome and the gameplay terrific. The only thing that made this game dismal at times is the lack of difficulty and how much the 4x cut materia make you overpowered. Other than that its great. DOWNLOAD NOW!

  • To answer your question dart it will never come out for the xbox 360 or the ps3 because square said that it already was a huge success that theres no need to tarnish it with a remake because people will criticize the game for not living up to the hype and that demo from e3 dosent mean anything.

  • Actually the game will be emade for the PS3. It was planned for ps2 before Advent Children was released but there were conflicts with other projects already near completion.

    Johntan2. You can wait for your points to grow but it will take time. It is also $5.00 US to get 10,000 more points.

    I just downloaded that and when I try to open it it gets an error that ePSXe isn't working....i dont even get to see if the game works yet

    it says "THE APPLICATION HAS FAILED TO START BECUASE zlib1.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

    BUT i already tried re installing it a lot of times =l

    but when i unrar the file it's just CORRUPT. What should i do?

  • It still doesn't work it just told me to download Regsitry Boot program and then i used it to scan or whatever it did but it still has the same error

    then u can see the battle menu.. at video configuration... choose configure..

    at off-screen drawing.. u have to choose beside minimum or fastest... better standard.

    I agree that this is a great game, and was in fact the first Final Fantasy I had ever played.



    However, I am sick of comments like "SOMFG BEST GAME EVAR!" And other mindless worship comments. I used to be one of those drones until I played Earthbound, Mother3, Dark Cloud 2, SMRPG, and for god's sake, Chrono fucking Trigger. There ARE other great RPG's out there. And I hate to break it to y'all, but they're all drink coasters compared to Dark Cloud 2, anyway. While that's the ONLY offensive thing I have to say towards FF and all the others, It's true.



    While I will agree that, with the exception of FFIX, this was the last outstanding FF game, FFVIII was my fav, and you have to give FFX some creds for somewhat following FFVII's footsteps in that X was also a lot of people's first Final Fantasy (mainly fangirls, and reeled in the most fangirls until Kingdom Hearts took the stage), and was the first to get a true sequel (even if it was a service for fangirls).

The reason it may get corrupted is if you have a slow pc and are trying to do too many things at once or have a virus , but sorry for your losses. this is by far the best game ever created. Just One Of Those you want to play over and over again. for those who are trying to make it so your download will play in ur ps2. yes it is possible.. you need two things... nero.. and a decent quality cd-r disk. u might have to special order them though.. enjoy

  • What about changing disks on EpsxE obviously at some point you have to chage disks, hows that going to work on the emulator.

    The game asks you to save before changing disks.. Save the game, close the emulator, change the disk, run the emulator and run the game. Load your save game.. VIOLA!

    P.S.
    ePSXe will also allow you to change disk while the game is running...

  • Since this game comes in 3 different downloads will my save progress carry over to the disk 2 and disk 3 downloads, or will I have to restart?

  • This is the best story ever told. And yes you should be able to carry your saved game over to disk 2 and 3, if not you screwed up somewhere.

    Actually the PC version is a direct port. It's no different from the PSX version at all.

  • A good FF game, but IX places better in my opinion... I played that one before VII and found VII to be a step down, except in fanboys. That was a step up.

  • I would say that many would agree with me when I say that this is possibly the greatest game ever if not the greatest role playing game for playstation, it pretty much made the style of game explode with millions of games trying to immitate it, and the fact that they've made so many afterwards just trying to get that winning formula this game had.
